Visit to WomanCraft

Last week I had the great honor and pleasure to visit WomanCraft, a transitional employment facility in Chicago. I was able to watch the skilled employees create handmade paper and products with the paper. Enjoy the slideshow!

Excellent Resource for Photographers' Legal Rights

I stumbled upon a lawyer's site with lots of helpful information about photographers' legal rights, especially when confronted by our increasingly paranoid society:http://www.krages.com/phoright.htm

Miniature Chicago

I'm having fun creating miniature landscapes in photoshop. Whenever I go to a skyscraper-located venue for a wedding, I always get some city shots. It's a nice update on the basic aerial view. I got the technique info from the tuaw site.

WPJA Honors my work

I was excited to find out that WPJA (The Wedding Photojournalist Association) has honored my image of Iris and Peter hugging after their ceremony at Bond Chapel. It won 2nd place in their Emotion category. WPJA is the world's largest organization promoting and advising the principles of a documentary approach to wedding photography and I was honored to have placed so well amongst such great photographers' work from around the world!

Studio Wall System Project Begins

Brent began the construction phase of our movable wall system. This system will allow us to easily create "rooms" to shoot in complete with a corner and variety of materials. Can't wait till it's time to wallpaper!

Could Spring finally be here?

I had a wonderful time photographing Joty and Rupinder this weekend in downtown Chicago. They braved the sunny but chilly Chicago lakefront and we got some beautiful photos. Thanks to my assistant Dane for some beautiful fill-flash.

Cindy Cornelsen

Fun photos with actress and comedienne Cindy Cornelsen in the studio and in the neighborhood. It's a very exciting time in photography. With the newer cameras and flashes, you can get superior photos with battery-powered flashes and integrate the light much better with the ambient light of the room.
